Government subsidy — the exact numbers

Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, central government subsidy for residential rooftop solar is:

System capacity Central subsidy Total you receive
1 kW ₹ 30,000 per kW ₹ 30,000
2 kW ₹ 30,000 per kW ₹ 60,000
3 kW ₹ 30,000 × 2 kW + ₹ 18,000 × 1 kW ₹ 78,000
More than 3 kW Capped ₹ 78,000 (maximum)
Important: this money is paid directly into your bank account by the government after your system is installed, inspected and commissioned with net metering. It is not something the vendor "adjusts" in the bill. Be careful of anyone who tells you otherwise.

Group housing societies and RWAs have a separate rate (₹ 18,000 per kW for common facilities). Scheme rules are set by the Government of India and can change — the official portal is pmsuryaghar.gov.in, and we confirm the current position for your case before you commit.

Which size do you need?

Government guidance links system size to your average monthly electricity consumption:

Monthly consumption Suitable system
0 – 150 units1 – 2 kW
150 – 300 units2 – 3 kW
Above 300 unitsMore than 3 kW

Most homes in Jhabua fall in the 1–3 kW range. Your bill tells us the exact number — no guesswork needed.

Why we do not publish one fixed price

Any company that quotes a single fixed price without seeing your roof is guessing. The real cost changes with:

  • System size (kW) — the biggest factor by far.
  • Panel and inverter make — different brands, different warranties, different prices.
  • Mounting structure — a plain RCC roof is cheaper than a tin shed or a raised structure over a terrace you still want to use.
  • Cable run and wiring — how far the roof is from your meter.
  • Net metering and DISCOM charges — as applicable in your area.

We would rather do a free survey and give you one honest written number than quote a low figure on the phone and increase it later.

What a proper quotation should include

Whoever you buy from, make sure the quotation clearly lists:

  • Solar panels — make, wattage, quantity and warranty
  • Inverter — make, capacity and warranty
  • Mounting structure — material and wind rating
  • DC and AC cabling, earthing and lightning arrester
  • Installation and commissioning
  • Net metering assistance and DISCOM liaison
  • Subsidy application filing
  • After-sales service and what is covered

Our quotations list all of this, item by item.

Paying in instalments (EMI)

You do not have to pay everything at once — EMI and solar loan options are available. Use our free EMI calculator to see roughly what the monthly instalment would be for a given amount, interest rate and tenure. It also generates a PDF you can keep or receive on WhatsApp.

Common questions

When does the subsidy money actually come?

After installation, inspection and net metering are complete, the government credits it straight to your bank account.

Is the subsidy available for commercial or farm connections?

PM Surya Ghar subsidy is for residential connections. Commercial and industrial systems follow different rules, and agricultural pumps come under separate schemes such as PM-KUSUM. Tell us your connection type and we will tell you what applies.

How long until solar pays for itself?

It depends on your bill, your tariff and the system size, which is exactly why we do a proper calculation for you instead of quoting a generic number. Our free solar estimate calculator gives you a first idea, and the survey gives you the accurate one.

Do you serve my town?

We work across four districts of Madhya Pradesh. Pick yours to see the towns we cover and the kind of systems we install there:

  • Jhabua — our home district (Meghnagar, Thandla, Petlawad, Ranapur, Rama)
  • Ratlam — Ratlam city, Jaora, Alot, Sailana, Namli, Piploda, Bajna
  • Dhar — Dhar, Pithampur industrial area, Badnawar, Sardarpur, Manawar, Kukshi
  • Alirajpur — Alirajpur, Jobat, Bhabhra, Sondwa, Katthiwara, Udaigarh

Which brand of solar panels do you install?

We install Tata solar panels. Our authorisation is from the government — registered vendor under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. We do not claim to be a Tata dealership.
